What games are you playing?? What games would you like to be playing?? What games will you never ever play ever?? In summation: talk about games.

Here are the games I'm actively playing right now:

    Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
    FEZ
Brutal Legend/Costume Quest/Psychonauts/Stacking (from Doublefine Humble Bundle)
    Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed/Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic Adventure DX/Sonic CD/Sonic Generations/Sonic 4, Ep 1+2/Sonic Spinball/Sonic 1-3 and Knuckles (from Sonic Hits Collection)

All fun games in different ways!! The Sonic Hits collection has made me obsessed with Sonic games for over a month now. I just can't stop playing Sonic games. I've got 6 out of 7 Chaos Emeralds in Sonic 4, Episode 1. I've never come this close to getting 7 Chaos Emeralds in any Sonic game before!! It helps that Sonic 4, Episode 1 is incredibly easy compared to the original games.

I currently have to beat Cave Story, but I'm a tad busy so instead I listen to the soundtracks.

How is that, by the way? I never got around to playing it.

The original PC version is free, in Japanese with unofficial translation patches and all those downloadable on this site.

There are a few others versions: DSi, Wii, 3DS and Cave Story+.

The Wii version has the upgraded bigger graphics and a "New" version of the soundtrack, but both are included in Cave Story+.
The 3DS version stands out as being a 2.5D remake of Cave Story but the "Remastered" soundtrack it uses is included in Cave Story+, and it has a different aesthetic from the original.
Cave Story+ is normally worth $14.99 on Steam and is most likely the most complete version so I advise buying that one. It has both original and upgraded graphics, all the 3 versions of the soundtrack, 3 difficulty settings, and I think it has all the extra modes for Cave Story (like the Machine Gun Challenge from the Wii version, I believe) so far.

So yeah, time to make yourself an opinion on it.

Oh, cool, thanks for the info!! That makes it easier to dive into. Do you like it, though? Does it live up to the hype?

When I received Cave Story, I didn't know much about it. I knew it was famous and that was about it.
I did watch a short livestream where some people played and commented it, and it was pretty cool to watch (couldn't hear the game).

When I actually started playing the game myself, I couldn't believe that I was unaware that such a [insert a very very very very very complimenting adjective] game existed.

It's not the game which lives up to the hype. It's the hype which does not live up to the game.

Wow, that's quite a recommendation, then!! I'll definitely have to check it out.

Hey Jeff, love that you're trying out Sonic Spinball. That's one of my favorite video games for the Genesis, despite it being ball-bustin' hard.

As for the games I've been playing? Currently I've been bouncing back and forth between BattleBlock Theater for my Xbox 360 and SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 for my Wii. Both are awesome and have given me a lot of enjoyment during the last month.

Yeah, Sonic Spinball is great! It's funny because I had gotten the Sonic Mega Collection for Gamecube and it's on there, but I only tried it a couple times and wasn't really interested in it. Playing it now I somehow got really engaged. It helped that I figured out you could speed it up in options, I'm convinced the default setting is a slowed down version of what the game was designed to play at. Also, I love the cartoony animations and just the art direction in general. It's a fun experience.

I can't wait to play BattleBlock! Unfortunately I never got a 360 so I'll either have to wait until I get one or like seven years for them to port it to PC, if Castle Crashers is any indication.

I didn't even realize SNK released a Classics collection. I'll definitely have to check that out! Too bad my Wii disc drive broke...

Yeah, Battleblock is great. I'm hoping that since the Xbox 360 is going to die off relatively soon (With Microsoft's new console coming), you'll be able to play the game on the PC soon.

Also, SNK's collection is great. Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug, King of the Monsters, and Baseball Stars 2 are all great games. Amazon has the game for as cheap as eight bucks plus shipping!

That's a good point! That would be nice, indeed.

Ah, yes! I actually owned Samurai Shodown for the SNES and we played that to no end. Awesome fighting game. I love the characters in that. Also got Baseball Stars 2 (B-B-B-BASEBALL) on the Virtual Console and the Metal Slug collection disc. But I don't have King of Monsters or any of the other games on there. I'd have to wait to get it until my Wii disc drives works again, though. Which might just mean waiting to get a Wii U at some point in the distant future. Eight bucks is a steal, though!
